Do NOT install the SPTD version that comes with Daemon Tools 4.48.1! Download and install the latest version of SPTD (see link below) from the Duplex Secure website.

After installing the latest version of SPTD, when installing Daemon Tools 4.48.1, the SPTD option will be unchecked / ticked by default. Do NOT select it. That's why the entire Daemon Tools package was marked as incompatible.

I am tired of Microsoft pushing me around. Every time there is a major update for Windows it deletes my installation of my favorite of Daemon Tools (4.48). Why? Because Microsoft feels it is incompatible with the newer version of Windows. They are incorrect, as it is compatible. What isn't compatible is the version of [http://www.duplexsecure.com/downloads SPTD] (necessary for Daemon Tools) that is bundled with that version of Daemon Tools

The 'problem' is that Microsoft doesn't consider the older version of Daemon Tools to be compatible with Windows 10. I put the word 'problem' in quotes to emphasize that it is a problem, but not in the way Microsoft would have you believe. Microsoft believes that Daemon Tools is not compatible with Windows 10. But it isn't true. How do I know? It just works. Click on the image and see for yourself. The 'problem' is Microsoft doesn't 'allow' the program to run. Worse than that, during major updates, Windows actually uninstalls Daemon Tools. And now as of Windows 10 version 1803, it doesn't even allow the installer to run.
