Tired of Microsoft doing an Intuit / QuickBooks thing by putting advertisements on stuff that's been paid for? Try a couple of the below Registry fixes to get rid of some of the below items;

"'Upgrade your plan' with a diamond icon on the left and a red dot on the right."

reg add "HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Common\ExperimentConfigs\ExternalFeatureOverrides\word" /v "Microsoft.Office.Licensing.ShowPerpetualUpgrade" /t REG_SZ /d "bool|0" /f

reg add "HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Common\ExperimentConfigs\ExternalFeatureOverrides\excel" /v "Microsoft.Office.Licensing.ShowPerpetualUpgrade" /t REG_SZ /d "bool|0" /f

reg add "HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Common\ExperimentConfigs\ExternalFeatureOverrides\powerpoint" /v "Microsoft.Office.Licensing.ShowPerpetualUpgrade" /t REG_SZ /d "bool|0" /f

"Sign In" Button at the top;

reg add "HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Common\ExperimentConfigs\ExternalFeatureOverrides\excel" /v "Microsoft.Office.Licensing.ShowPerpetualUpgrade" /t REG_SZ /d "bool|0" /f

At least Microsoft allows one to turn the commercials off. Sort of like half Hitler instead of full Hitler. Not sure if that's any better though.
